The Newmarket Viaduct (SH1 motorway flyover) is currently being replaced. To allow the New Zealand Transport Agency to safely keep all motorway lanes open in both directions while they carry out this significant upgrade, they require all motorists to respect the new, reduced speed limits and drive with extra caution – particularly at off-peak times.
